It’s difficult to put together a post on 9-11.  We like to think that out of the solemnity of the day will come renewed joy and passion for life.  We remember those lost, nurse our scars, and put our hope in a better tomorrow.

 

On to the weekend….

It’s almost mid-September.  Have you been to the North Fork this summer or autumn?

It’s so easy to forget how much there is to do out here besides eat and drink.  There’s farmstands, antiques, parks, and even the beaches are still nice.

Before we get to the weekend events, here is some news worth mentioning….

Delta Airlines and Avis Auto Rentals are teaming up with the North Fork for their “90 Point Wines-90 Minutes Away“.  Check out the details and see how to get free tastings and discounts all throughout the East End Wine Trail.

Harvest is in full swing across the North Fork – grapes and hops are looking amazing this year.  We had a perfect summer, minimal rain, warm but not hot, that according to growers, should allow for complex flavors in 2014 wines.   The local hop farms are also reporting that their plants are reaching a state of maturity that allows them to supply local breweries with fresh hops.
