This is July Fourth Weekend: the official start of the summer season. From now until Labor Day, the North Fork is officially in Summer mode: summer hours, summer events, summer, summer, summer!

Some important events of note for you to consider this weekend: Beginning Thursday with Sparkling Pointe’s Summer Clambake. From 5-8PM for $95pp, Sparkling Pointe is throwing down their start of summer event. Follow North-Forks calendar math: Since Saturday is the actual Fourth of July Holiday, Friday is the day most people will have off, so Thursday the new Friday.

On Friday, Paumanok Vineyards is having their Fifth Annual ilili Lamb Roast with dinner beginning promptly at 6PM. Based on the menu and photos from previous events, this looks like a “don’t miss”.

This weekend also marks the first anniversary of Little Creek Oysters. We spoke about Little Creek in depth last fall. They are celebrating their first anniversary with an Oysterfest shellabration all weekend. If you’re in Greenport, absolutely pop in and get schucking!

Speaking of celebrations, speaking of weekends, speaking of Greenport…. The tall ships are coming! Everyone in Greenport is ready to greet them, local venders, food trucks, restaurants, even special cocktails have been created to celebrate the event. Tall ship mania begins Saturday and continuing through Tuesday the 7th. Covering both Saturday and Sunday in Greenport, the tall ship celebration is one to be seen.

In Riverhead, Bistro 72 is having their Summer Sundays Fun Days celebration with live music, drinks and food, poolside.

Lastly, let’s not forget First and South’s Monday evening Pig Roast. You may not officially call yourself a local until you’ve done this!
