Upcoming Events: July 17-23, 2015

You might find something new about this post. Here at North-Forks, we want our Calendar to be the best events calendar on the North Fork. Our weekly event updates will highlight some notable or fun things each day, but direct you to the Calendar for details and additional events. Because there are so many weekday events in season, it seemed contrary to our mission for our Weekend updates to exclude them.

So here it is, our first Upcoming Events post. Tell us what you think, especially compared to our Weekend Updates.

Glasses-01-Jason NadlerFriday is always a great day to wrap up the week and start the weekend. Lenz is open late with live music. Should your weekend start earlier, North Fork Table and Inn begins every Friday with their Farmer’s Market and continues with their Lunch Truck and Champagne Garden where they serve glasses of bubbly accompanied by complementary bites. Bistro 72 has live music on their patio in the evening. Or there’s always Greenport Harbor Brewing Company with the food truck arriving at 3 and music starting at 6.

On Saturday don’t miss the River Craft Beverage Festival in Riverhead. From 12:30 to 4PM on the riverfront you’ll experience dozens of vendors sampling their beer as well as food trucks and other activities. Admission is $45 and it looks like an exciting day. The truth is there are too many things going on Saturday to point out, so here are a few: live music at Diliberto, Jason’s, and Lieb. Oysters at Paumanok, and Waters Crest is having a “speakeasy” event at Jedediah Hawkins Inn, at their hidden Speakeasy bar. Saturday night Duck Walk North is hosting an Opera performance in tribute to the late Herodotus ‘Dr.Dan’ Damianos, North Fork Wine Pioneer, who passed away in August last year.

The weekend isn’t winding down just because it’s Sunday, there is no shortage of things to do.  There’s live music at Sparkling Pointe. Jedediah Hawkins Innis having their weekly clambake. Martha Clara also has live music.

Mondays are one of those days that you either loathe or love. Perhaps when Monday has so many things going on it’s because it’s trying to compensate for its reputation. Alure has their Lobster Bash all afternoon, First and South has their Pig Roast, featuring a different Long Island brewery every week. Paw Paw pop up restaurant pops every Monday. They, excitingly or unfortunately, are booked through September, so get on that and make yourself a reservation!

Tuesdays are the quiet day of the coming week. Alure goes to the Greek with Santorini Tuesday with Greek food specials, Greek music, and alleged plate smashing all afternoon. Bedell Cellars has Taco Tuesdays with Noah’s On The Road food truck and live music.

Wednesday is everyone’s favorite hump day. First and South celebrates the lifeguards that keep us safe at our beautiful beaches with drink specials for them. Also in Greenport, Little Creek Oysters Happy Hour celebrates the middle of the week with local beer, wine and fresh oysters. Martha Clara celebrates Wine Dawn Wednesdays with a food truck, music and wine.

Thursday offers a winemakers walk at Castello di Borghese, a BBQ at Jedediah Hawkins Inn, as well as quite a bit of live music at other locations.
