Upcoming Events August 28-September 3, 2015

Last weekend, Harvest East End was a lot of fun. A fitting end to the summer season. Of course, with one weekend left, there are still fantastic events happening, most notably on Saturday the 29th, New York Wine Events, the people behind North Fork Crush, are bringing the first of their planned “Meet the Winemaker, Taste the Wines” events with Miguel Martin and Palmer Vineyards.

Also on Saturday is Bedell Cellars Rootstock Music Festival. That’s a five hour musical experience at their Corey Creek Tasting Room.

On Sunday, Paumanok Vineyards is having a Magnum Dinner as an excuse to bring out the big bottles paired with five courses prepared by local chef Tom Schaudel of Amano and Restaurant Alure .

Our Calendar is the best place to look for upcoming events to plan your time here, but here is a sample of what’s happening in the coming week:

Friday: begin the weekend a little early! The North Fork Table begins the day with a farmer’s market and rounds it off with a lunch truck, champagne garden and restaurant. The Old Fields Vineyard begins their weekend Tastings By The Bay on Fridays and has two seatings each day through Sunday. Roanoke Vineyards has pizza on the piazza at their Love Lane tasting room. If you haven’t been to their main winery, remember it closes to all but wine club members at the end of this year. The North Fork Food Truck will be selling McCall’s free-range, grass fed Charolais burgers at McCall’s Wines in the evening. Live music is scheduled at Pindar, Diliberto, Bistro 72Seaside Grill, Macari and Castello di Borghese.

Saturday: As mentioned, both Bedell Cellars and Palmer Vineyardsare having events today, Rootstock Music Festival at Bedell and Meet the Winemaker, Taste the Wines at Palmer. The North Fork Food Truck will be serving lunch at the North Fork Table and Inn. Live music can be found at Diliberto, Baiting Hollow Vineyards, Jamesport, Lieb, Cooperage Inn, Jason’s Vineyards, Clovis Point, Martha Clara, Sherwood House, Castello di Borghese, Seaside Grill, Bistro 72and PindarPaumanok Vineyards will be serving oysters, Roanoke Vineyards is gearing up for their hill climb, and by “hill climb” they actually mean an excuse to eat and taste wine. The Old Fields Vineyard continues Tasting By The Bay, and Croteaux Vineyards, Waters CrestMattebella, McCall’s Wines, among others, will all be serving wine in their beautiful settings. One Woman Winery closes the evening with their weekly Tasting Under the Stars.

Sunday: As mentioned is Paumanok Vineyards Magnum Dinner. Roanoke Vineyards has oysters at their Love Lane tasting room.The North Fork Food Truck will be serving lunch at the North Fork Table and Inn. Live music can be found at Diliberto, Baiting Hollow Vineyards, Jamesport, Lieb, Cooperage Inn, Jason’s Vineyards, Clovis Point, Martha Clara, Sherwood House, Castello di Borghese, Seaside Grill and Pindar. Sparkling Pointe has a live jazz duo as part of their Summer Sundays event. With only two weekends left, Bistro 72 isn’t winding down their Summer Sundays Fundays just yet. The Old Fields Vineyard does their two seatings for Tasting By The Bay, while Jedediah Hawkins Inn has their weekly clambake. Castello di Borghese and Sannino Bella Vita Vineyard have walking tours and tastings today. As always, there are many other places to go to just sip wine, as mentioned on Saturday.

Monday gets the week off to a great start with Restaurant Alure’s  lobster bash for lunch and dinner. Bedell Cellars, they save their events for weekdays and today they will have live music and food trucks. First & South celebrates Monday evening with their weekly pig roast, and there are just two remaining so don’t put it off. PawPaw Pop Up takes over Bruce’s Cheese Imporium.

Tuesday: Shinn has self-guided tour and tastings (all week), North Fork Table lunch truck is available all week, and Bedell Cellars has live music and food trucks in the evening. Restaurant Alure switches gears from lobster to Greek with their Tuesday Santorini Bash: Greek food and music.

Wednesday: Little Creek Oysters celebrates Hump Day with happy hour, First & South honors our lifeguards with food and drink specials for the whistle-twirling sentinels of the waters, and Bistro 72 has live music. Martha Clara’s Wine Down Wednesday is a relaxing mid-week way to spend an evening.

Thursday: Castello di Borghesehas a winemakers walk. Jedediah Hawkins Inn has a BBQ, and there’s live music at several venues including Restaurant Alure, Bistro 72, Baiting Hollow Farm Vineyard and Raphael. Bedell Cellars brings out the music and the food trucks this evening.
