Arguably, the most important event this weekend is Harvest East End. Presented by Dan’s Papers and taking place on McCall’s Ranch, Harvest East End is Long Island’s largest harvest celebration. Wineries, breweries, restaurants, and other retailers gather to show off their latest creations. It’s a great experience and the sort of event you must attend at least once. Whether or not you’re attending Harvest East End, there are still plenty of things happening in the coming seven days.
Our Calendar is the best place to look for upcoming events to plan your time here, but here is a sample of what’s happening in the coming week:
Friday: is a great start to the weekend. Pindar, Diliberto and Sannino Bella Vita Vineyards are some of the wineries open late. The Old Field Vineyards offer private tastings by the bay all weekend. It’s Paintnite at Laurel Lake Vineyards. The North Fork Food Truck will be selling McCall’s free-range, grass fed Charolais burgers at McCall’s Wines in the evening. There’s live music at Bistro 72 and Seaside Grill, pizza at Roanoke Vineyards Love Lane tasting room, and sunset fun at Castello di Bourghese. As always, North Fork Table is busy all day with farmer’s market, lunch truck, champagne garden and restaurant.
Saturday: As mentioned, this evening is the annual Harvest East End celebration. Clovis Point can help you get your Saturday morning Zen on with Yoga in the Vines. Sannino Bella Vita Vineyard winemaker tours the vineyard with tastings. Music is everywhere Saturday. Baiting Hollow Vineyards, Jamesport, Lieb, Cooperage Inn, Jason’s Vineyards, Clovis Point and Pindar are just a few places that will be turning up the ambiance with live performances by some amazing local musicians. Not up for music? Check out Croteaux Vineyards, Mattebella, McCall’s Wines , Roanoke Vineyards , and Paumanok Vineyards . These are beautiful wineries that have chosen to keep the focus on their wine. Paumanok, by the way was just awarded with 2015 NYS Winery of the Year.
Sunday has Paumanok Vineyards with oysters on their patio. Bistro 72 is continuing their excellent Sunday Summer Fun Days concert series. Sparkling Pointe has a live jazz duo that adds lovely background music to the atmosphere. Live music is easily found at many other locations like Restaurant Alure, Laurel Lake Vineyards, Clovis Point, Jason’s Vineyards and Cooperage Inn, but if that’s not your thing, Mattebella, McCall, Croteaux and Sannino Bella Vita Vineyard are a few of several wineries that always pour a fantastic time without added entertainment. Jedediah Hawkins Inn has their weekly clambake.
Monday gets the week off to a great start with Restaurant Alure’s lobster bash for lunch and dinner. Bedell Cellars, they save their events for weekdays and today they will have live music and food trucks. First & South celebrates Monday evening with their weekly pig roast, and PawPaw Pop Up takes over Bruce’s Cheese Imporium.
Tuesday: Shinn has self-guided tour and tastings (all week), North Fork Table lunch truck is available all week, and Bedell Cellars has live music and food trucks in the evening. Restaurant Alure switches gears from lobster to Greek with their Tuesday Santorini Bash: Greek food and music.
Wednesday: Little Creek Oysters celebrates Hump Day with happy hour, First & South honors our lifeguards with food and drink specials for the whistle-twirling sentinels of the waters, and Bistro 72 has live music. Martha Clara’s Wine Down Wednesday is a relaxing mid-week way to spend an evening.
Thursday: Castello de Bourghese has a winemakers walk. Jedediah Hawkins Inn has a BBQ, and there’s live music at several venues including Restaurant Alure, Bistro 72, Baiting Hollow Farm Vineyard and Raphael. Bedell Cellars brings out the music and the food trucks this evening.
