This is Thanksgiving weekend and we at North-Forks wish you all a safe and peaceful holiday weekend. We all have a great deal to be thankful for. To give you things to do while reflecting on this, the North Fork has plenty to offer this weekend.

Friday is Black Friday. The name originated as a term in retail to mean the day you wish you could have off. If shopping isn’t your thing, or you’re not bound by convention to shop when you’re told to shop, the North Fork has plenty of alternatives. Most notable is Martha Clara’s Black Friday Concert featuring a Billy Joel tribute band. Tickets are going fast. Black Friday is also the name of Long Ireland’s Imperial Stout, releasing on its namesake day. One might imagine that in a few decades, people may come to believe that the day was named for the beer!

Saturday is Small Business Saturday. This is a relatively new designation to remind the shoppers of the world that Mom and Pop still have plenty to offer during the madness of the holidays, including a personal touch and items just not available everywhere. Nearly every restaurant, winery, and small business is offering specials and sales to remind you to give big box stores the day off. Even American Express is helping, offering qualifying purchases additional love. Saturday has two notable events, Castillo di Borghese is having their Holiday Kickoff Party and Sparkling Point is kicking off their month of Eat, Drink, Be Sparkling Saturday events with a wine and food pairing with dishes prepared by the Petulant Wino. Seating is limited at both events (and their times don’t overlap!), so plan ahead.

Sunday, well, Sunday is just Sunday! It’s a great day to kick back, relax, and rejoice in all the North Fork has to offer while the rest of the country fights over discounted socks. Plan an evening at Noah’s for his Winemakers Sunday dinners. He has created dishes specifically for the wines at each event.
