Here’s a riddle: How do oysters transform into robots?

The answer: I was hoping you knew, because on Friday people will be shucking oysters at Little Creek Oysters in Greenport, and on Saturday they will be building robots. Perhaps it was ooze from outer space that forged this transformation and not a science grant. In truth, Little Creek Oysters will transform just for the day into Little Creek PlayLabs. Here, they will take a handful of students and build remotely operated vehicles (ROV’s). These they will send out on dives to explore the Peconic Bay, look at Oyster Beds and even explore wrecks.

Robots not your thing? How about eating fish at the Long Island Aquarium? No, you’re not fighting with the seals or swimming with the sharks, but on Friday, the Aquarium is hosting their 7^th annual Fish and Sips, featuring over 20 local wines.

Saturday marks the third of North Fork Table & Inn’s cooking classes. They are on Saturdays in November from 1-3PM, and the last will be on the 22nd. There are only 30 spots, and with prices at only $90pp, you should call to hold your place and learn from the

Let’s also not forget the daily specials of the  7 Days of Bistro 72,  and Wednesday Happy Hour at North Fork Oysters in Greenport, from 5-7PM, as well as the regular goings on of so many North Fork restaurants, including the continuing Noah’s Winemaker Sunday dinners.

A little advanced notice, on Thursday, November 20, Michael Anthony’s Food Bar in Wading River will be hosting their Speakeasy Beer Dinner. Dress up in your favorite 1920’s fashion and have a great meal. Just don’t bring any modern pennies.
