There is certainly a lot going on this weekend, and so many reasons to come out and visit the North Fork.  Friday is Halloween, and the official end of “season”.  Pumpkins are over and Christmas trees will not be available for over a month.  The foliage is exploding with color, and the weather looks to be beautiful.

There will be several Halloween Parties this weekend, Greenport Harbor Brewing Company and First and South on Friday, with very little overlap, so there’s no excuse not to attend both! If you can’t make Friday, Michael Anthony’s Food Bar is hosting a Gotham themed party on Saturday.

Saturday marks the first of North Fork Table & Inn’s cooking classes.  They are on Saturdays in November from 1-3PM, and the rest will be on the 8th, 15th, and 22nd. There are only 30 spots, and with prices at only $90pp ($300 for all four), you should call to hold your place and learn from the best.

Saturday night/Sunday morning is the end of Daylight Savings Time, so don’t forget to turn your clocks back an hour to be on time for your Sunday Restaurant week  reservation.  The culinary event spans the entire week, Sunday November 2nd through Sunday November 9th.  Dinner prices are $27.95 for three courses, so reservations are a must.  To check for participating restaurants, click here.

Another Sunday dining option is Noah’s Winemaker Sunday with Shinn Estate Vineyards  winemaker Patrick Caserta.

Next weekend, November 8th and 9th, the Long Island Wine Council and the East End Tourism Alliance are having the second annual Taste North Fork.  There will be free shuttles all around the Fork from noon-5:30PM as well as additional service from Orient and NYC, not to mention all sorts of special events.

Let’s also not forget the daily specials of the  7 Days of Bistro 72,  and Wednesday Happy Hour at North Fork Oysters in Greenport, from 5-7PM, as well as the regular goings on of so many North Fork restaurants, including the continuing Noah’s Winemaker Sunday dinners.
